As reported in The Irish Times, we are thrilled to announce seed investment of €500,000 to help us scale internationally. The investment round is being facilitated by Enterprise Ireland through their High Potential Start-Up programme, enabling us to access expert advice and support. Enterprise Ireland are being joined by other investors including Elkstone Capital, one of the leading early stage investors in Ireland.

The investment will give us the ability to provide a better service to our charity partners and to our thrifters. By getting more charity shops online and making it easier for them to list and sell products, we are aiming to provide a substantial source of funding to good causes. Getting thousands more great quality garments for sale online (at amazing prices) means we can give even more thrifters an ever improving alternative to fast fashion.

Since we first had the idea for thriftify over five years ago, we have been committed to a belief that shopping needs to change. How and why we shop needs to change from being an extractive, damaging activity to something that benefits people and planet. A circular model of buying is the future, and charity shops are leading the charge. Every year we donate hundreds of millions of items to charity shops and they hold the key to unlocking a sustainable shopping future. Thriftify's mission is to connnect charity shops with consumers who care - in the face of recent shop closures this has never been more important.

Since January we have grown to support over 90% of Ireland's charity retailers and have just launched in the United Kingdom. We're incredibly grateful to our charity partners who have trusted us with their online ambitions and we are going to continue improving our technology and their ability to connect directly to conscious thrifters all over the world.

We want to also pay special tribute to our dedicated thrifters who are changing the conversation about fashion. Your support, social media posts and passionate desire for social change is at the heart of thriftify. Without your conscious actions towards a sustainable fashion future we would not be where we are today. 

Which is why we are also delighted to announce a new referal scheme coming soon. Engaging many more people in the important conversations about sustainability is going to be one of our key objectives in the months ahead. We hope you'll help us continue to grow the thriftify community.
